Lewis is in love with his best friend Dylan and he knows Dylan feels something, too, even if he refuses every advance Lewis has ever made. After six years of waiting and hoping, Lewis reluctantly decides it’s time to move on. An invitation to a Halloween party appears to be the perfect opportunity to meet someone new and maybe get over his unrequited feelings for Dylan.
Lewis soon realizes he’s attending a very different kind of party and inadvertently discovers that Dylan may have a secret that is keeping them apart. But Lewis has secrets too, and the two friends may be more compatible than either of them realized. Now all Lewis has to do is show Dylan just how good they can be together.
Review:
I quite liked this little Halloween story (which can be read any time) with a touch of kink. Lewis’ unrequited crush on his best friend Dylan was touch to see. He’d even made a move several times which Dylan rebuffed, but the man remained steadfastly his friend. Dylan finally figures it’s time he made an effort and agrees to go to the party of a friend of his coworker for Halloween. However when he arrives at the party, his coworker is not there and it’s the oddest party he’s ever been to. Lots of guys in leather and women in latex, but hey, it’s Halloween right?
He soon starts to realize it’s not a “normal” party when there is talk of the dungeon, he thinks, but just as he’s agreeing to go upstairs to chat with on of the guys, Dylan shows up and starts freaking out and drags him out of the party. Ooops. Cue title of the story. It seems the reason Dylan has been brushing Lewis off, is his tastes run a bit on the kinky side and he figured Lewis was vanilla so it would only end badly, although now that Lewis knows what’s going on, maybe he’s less vanilla than he seemed.
I really enjoyed watching Lewis try to get his bearings in this strange party where he was definitely fresh meat. But he handled it well and soon figured out what was happening, more or less. He didn’t run screaming, and then it was kind of fun to see Dylan be the one who was off kilter seeing his friend at the private party and trying to “save” him.
The author has a pleasant readable style. It was smooth and engaging and quite sexy when Dylan finally settles down. While it’s set at Halloween, Lewis is not in costume and it’s not that kind of costume party, it could have been just a house party set at anytime, so don’t let the fact that it revolves around the holiday put you off picking it up now in mid-summer. It’s still a cute story to read anytime.

I know, I know. LOL I enjoyed it though and I especially enjoyed watching Lewis at the party as he started to figure out what was up.
Oh, I liked this one too! A fun and slightly naughty read. I loved Lewis’s reactions in the party and how he started figuring out that things weren’t quite as he was expecting.
Yeah it was interesting how he adjusted as he clued in. It was cute and fun.
